MEDIEVAL GOLD SIGNET RING WITH CROWNED SHIELD
15th-16th century AD

A gold heraldic finger ring with elliptical-section hoop, flared shoulders, discoid bezel with pelletted border, heater shield with eagle rousant beneath a ducal(?) crown. 16 grams, 24mm overall, 19.96mm internal diameter (approximate size British U, USA 10, Europe 22.52, Japan 21) (1").

Extremely fine condition. A large wearable size.

Property of a central London collector; acquired from a large private collection formed in the 1980s. Accompanied by a positive X-Ray Fluorescence metal analysis certificate.
