A warm welcome to our May 2015 TimeLine Auctions London sale

We are pleased to announce that we have expanded our in-house specialist team with the recruitment of Michaela Simonova, M.A. from Comenius University, Bratislava, Slovakia, whose academic fields include pre-Christian Scandinavia and Central America, and the Scandinavian influence on early eastern Europe. The Baltic region is one of her principal research projects, alongside Scandinavian rock art. She is a leading member of the Centre for Mesoamerican Studies and co-organised the Centre’s 2014 European Maya Conference. Michaela also researches the art and religions of Western Asia, Greece, Rome, and the Caucasus. We are very pleased to welcome Michaela to the TimeLine team.
Clients attending our champagne reception on Tuesday 26th May will have the opportunity to meet Tim Wonnacott, who will be attending as Guest Auctioneer for selected lots offered on the following day. Tim is a familiar figure to British TV audiences, appearing regularly on Antiques Roadshow and Bargain Hunt as well as The Great Antiques Hunt, Antiques Roadtrip, The Divine Michaelangelo and Strictly Come Dancing. Tim qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and a Chartered Auctioneer, then trained in Fine and Decorative Arts at the Victoria & Albert Museum, London, before taking a post at Sotheby’s in 1978.
We are pleased to welcome back our other Guest Auctioneers, Lindsey Gundersen and Peter Bufton. Lindsey is a celebrity TV presenter and newsroom anchor who has returned to oversee the auction of gold items, and we confidently expect her to repeat her previous achievement. Peter has had a long and varied career with Christies and Sotheby’s in London and New York and returns to conduct an afternoon’s auctioneering on 29th May.
Best regards,
Brett Hammond (CEO)
