TimeLine Auctions: Objects fit for Royalty
For those of you who are ‘in town’, you are cordially invited to our summer evening reception at 5.30pm, with viewing from noon on 4th September at the Emmanuel Centre in Westminster. Sip a glass of Bollinger while listening to celebrity auctioneer and TV presenter Tim Wonnacott, who will be presenting an account of his life and career illustrated by objects at 6pm entitled ‘Lots about Lots’ for about 20 minutes, then it’s free flowing drinks and canapés amongst our gallery setting, with all items within this five day sale available to view until 9pm.
This catalogue is full of interesting items and includes a selection of antiquities owned or dedicated to gods, royalty and nobles; from ‘The Great King Darius’ and the historically elusive ‘Ampirish, King of Sama ti’, to a gold ring with portrait of Elizabeth I, probably gifted by the Queen to a faithful subject after the defeat of the Spanish Armada in 1588.
A section of particular note is a fine selection of important cylinder and other seals, starting from lot 358. We would like to thank our official TimeLine specialists based in the UK, Germany and the USA, for their expertise in cataloguing this fabulous section.
As always I wish you fun and good luck with your bidding, and hope to see old friends and new at our spectacular Westminster venue.
Yours sincerely,
Brett Hammond (CEO)
