TimeLine Auctions: September Auction Now Open for Bidding
Welcome to the September 2015 London rostrum sale. Once again, we are proud to offer a vast range of material from across the ancient world; with an increase of more than 100% in the value and quantity of lots since our September 2014 sale, this auction is set to be another record-breaker.
We are also proud to announce that for the first time our Champagne Reception is in association with MOTTRA, who will be serving the highest quality Baltic caviar to our clients, along with our signature Champagne, Bollinger.
In addition, we welcome the return of our celebrity auctioneers: BBC TV's Tim Wonnacott, alongside Lindsey Gundersen, Peter Bufton, and our resident auctioneer, Robin Baker.
Our last London sale was an astonishing success, the coin highlight being a world-record price for any silver or bronze coin of Carausius when lot 2221 achieved £17,360 including buyer's premium. Continuing the trend, two Viking period items proved popular: lot 959, a bracelet of plaited gold wire with splayed terminals fetched £29,760, and lot 1005, a silver-gilt pendant with a twisted gripping beast, made £13,640. From the medieval period, a 14th-15th century gold finger ring with a sapphire cabochon achieved £9,920, whilst lot 0721, a 16th century gold posy ring with the Latin motto ‘Utraque Fortuna Contentus’ (happy with either fortune) achieved £6,820. Our latest promotional video, which was shot during our last sale, is now available to watch from a link on our website homepage.
We have recently upgraded our website to offer our clients the conveniences of a live online bidding system with sound and video, and buyer and seller account management functions. Further enhancements are planned to ensure that buying and selling with TimeLine continues to be a secure, confidential and transparent experience.
Our growing team of specialists have pooled their knowledge and experience to produce this, our widest-raging catalogue yet. We hope that you will find it as informative and enjoyable as we have.
